Faith Formation - Evangelization » Evangelization

Evangelization

This Apostolate develops, promotes and evaluates evangelization and catechetical programs for the parish. Our mission is to prepare workers for the vineyard who will "Go... and make disciples of all nations" (Matt 28:19) by spreading the Good News of Our Lord, Jesus Christ. The task of spreading the Word is called "evangelization".
Lifelong Faith Formation is essential for all Catholics. By being well formed in the Faith we can come to know, love and serve Christ. No matter where we are on our journey God calls us to a deeper response of faith. Whether or not that response is simply in our personal prayer life or if it is through evangelization efforts in our families or community, we need to be equipped. St. Clement Church strives to equip all parishioners to know, love and serve Jesus Christ and his Church.

The New Evangelization includes evangelizing not only those who do not know Jesus Christ, but it includes those in our own families and even those sitting in the pew next to us. Effective evangelization requires knowledge of our faith. An evangelist must always "be prepared to make a defense to anyone who calls you to account for the hope that is in you"(1 Peter 3:15). It is important to sometimes use words when spreading the Word and to know how to do this effectively.
Prayerfully consider your role in the New Evangelization and how you may be able to come to know, love and serve the Lord in your ministry by equipping yourself through one of these offerings.

Catholics Come Home

Our Catholic faith is the largest Christian family in the world. Our Church is a vibrant and growing family, but we miss our brothers and sisters who have not been to Mass lately.

Catholic Answers

Catholic Answers is one of the nation’s largest lay-run apostolates of Catholic apologetics and evangelization. It is an apostolate dedicated to serving Christ by bringing the fullness of Catholic truth to the world. They help good Catholics become better Catholics, bring Catholics "home," and lead non-Catholics into the fullness of the faith.

Catechism of the Catholic Church

"A sure norm for teaching the Catholic faith", the Catechism of the Catholic Church published in 1994 is the catechism of the Second Vatican Council. When we are at Mass we are "at the foot of the Cross. " When we study the Catechism we are "at the foot of the Church, the mystical body of Christ."
