The blessing of the Bambinelli was first instituted by St. John Paul II. On the third Sunday of Advent, the children of Rome were encouraged to bring their Baby Jesus ("Bambinelli") from each of their nativity sets to St. Peter's Square where the Pope would bless the figures. This blessing of the infants from nativity sets continues even today and has now spread all over the world. This year, we look forward to continuing the tradition at St. Clement of Rome. Family activities and breakfast will be held after the 9:00 AM Mass on Sunday, December 12th.
