Confirmation

Confirmation seals our life of faith in Jesus. Its signs are the laying on of hands on a person’s head, most often by a bishop, and the anointing with oil. Like Baptism, Confirmation is received only once.

Confirmation for Young Adults

For young adults, the Sacrament of Confirmation is celebrated in the spring in the parish church. A meeting is held in January to present the program to parents and students in 7th grade. St. Clement offers a program of instruction to students who attend St. Clement School, the St. Clement Family Catechesis program, and private schools. For more information, contact Barb Yoffie at (314) 822-1903.

Confirmation for Adults

For adults, the Sacrament of Confirmation is celebrated at the Easter Vigil (for those baptized but not formally instructed in the Catholic Faith), or on Pentecost Sunday at the Cathedral Basilica. For more information, contact the Rectory at (314) 965-0709 about the RCIA program (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults).
