Evangelization & Catechesis

This Apostolate has the responsibility of developing, promoting, and evaluating evangelization and catechetical programs for the parish. Our job is to prepare workers for the vineyard who will "Go... and make disciples of all nations" (Matt 28:19) by spreading the Good News of Our Lord, Jesus Christ. The task of spreading the Word is called "evangelization."

Effective evangelization requires knowledge of our faith. An evangelist must always "be prepared to make a defense to any one who calls you to account for the hope that is in you." (1 Peter 3:15). It is important to sometimes use words when spreading the Word and to know how to do this effectively.

We are pleased to offer the online and classroom courses of the Paul VI Pontifical Institute of St. Louis www.archstl.org/paul6 for the Spring and Summer 2012. The core of catechesis for St. Clement this year will be courses from the Paul VI Pontifical Institute. We strongly recommend an initial curriculum courses on the Catechism of the Catholic Church. There are four Catechism courses that can be taken in or out of sequence. For more details, download the document entitled Paul VI Institute Program in the "Documents" section on left of this webpage.

Catechism of the Catholic Church

"A sure norm for teaching the Catholic faith", the Catechism of the Catholic Church published in 1994 is the catechism of the Second Vatican Council. When we are at Mass we are "at the foot of the Cross. " When we study the Catechism we are "at the foot of the Church, the mystical body of Christ."

Catholic Answers is one of the nation’s largest lay-run apostolates of Catholic apologetics and evangelization. It is an apostolate dedicated to serving Christ by bringing the fullness of Catholic truth to the world. They help good Catholics become better Catholics, bring Catholics "home," and lead non-Catholics into the fullness of the faith.

Catholics Come Home

Our Catholic faith is the largest Christian family in the world. Our Church is a vibrant and growing family, but we miss our brothers and sisters who have not been to Mass lately.
