St. Vincent de Paul Society

Jesus cured the sick and fed them with the five loaves and two fish, until all had their fill, with twelve baskets left over. While we know that “one does not live on bread alone,” it is our Catholic duty to administer to the poor, both with food and the Word of God. The Mission Statement of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul is to empower its members to live their faith through charitable works, serving those in need with material assistance, spiritual enrichment, and unconditional love.

The parishioners of St. Clement of Rome display their generosity through cash donations, food, and clothing so that those in need may be served. Our St. Vincent de Paul conference members work to distribute these gifts to those in dire straits. Although not all members make home visits to the poor and sick, there are plenty of opportunities to serve in other capacities such as delivering food and clothing to poor parishes in our Diocese, providing referrals for legal services and domestic violence assistance, helping to collect furniture, finding used cars for those who need to work, restoring utilities to those without power and gas, and advocating for those who are vulnerable in any way.

We meet on the third Monday of each month in the Music Room at 7:00 p.m., and we invite anyone in the parish to join with us as we prayerfully work to help those in need.
