Liturgy of the Word for Children
This program is conducted as part of the 11:00 a.m. Sunday liturgy and brings the scripture readings to the level of K-2nd grade children. The program is conducted by volunteers and runs throughout the school year. No pre-registration is required.
The purpose of the Liturgy of the Word for Children is to deliver the Word in way that the children can understand and apply the message to their everyday life. Although the Liturgy of the Word for Children occurs downstairs in the Oak Room, it is a continuation of the Mass where the Word is presented in an engaging, age-appropriate manner. The focus for this ministry is, therefore, quite different from the babysitting purpose of Little Church. Liturgy of the Word for Children allows for creative activities centered around the Gospel.
